Special Exhibit for the Suffolk 250th Celebration

The public is invited to discover Kings Park’s Revolutionary history. Learn about Zephaniah Platt, who aided the Patriot cause with secret whaleboat missions until captured by the British in 1777. Explore the Battle of Ft. Slongo, where Benjamin Tallmadge led a crucial Patriot victory and Sgt. Elijah Churchill received the Badge of Military Merit—the first Purple Heart.
